Glazing Hazardous location - what year?

Can someone tell me what year the code started requiring glazing in hazardous locations to be safety type?

e.g. Windows near landing, steps, tub/shwr, doors etc.

Comparable.

Newer sections to the hazardous locations include stairways, landings, and ramps.

The '89 allows for the edge nearest a swinging door as 12", compared to today's 24"

The Consumer Products Safety Commission published a standard effective July 6, 1977 that preempted state or local codes that weren't identical.
