Good news: I can dump chrome!

I was using chrome to browse the forum, because there was a CSS bug which caused issues in Opera which is my first line browser. Recent changes apparently have fixed the issue, and I can go back to just two browsers (IE being the other one which I use for compatibility on another website).

I hate Chrome not because it installs updates without asking (although that is a good reason) but because it sends anything typed into the "search/address" box back to Google keystroke by keystroke.

I believe that is an option (address box search) that you can disable (actually, you must have enabled it to satart with at some point by mistake)

You can disable the search feature in the one box . . . : )Under tools (the thing that looks like a wrench), "basics" "search" uncheck the "Enable Instant" . . . I happen to like mine on. I don't care what they log.

Disabling instant search does not disable Google logging keystrokes - that practice dates back to the earliest days of Chrome because tracking personally identifiable information is the basis of Google's revenue model.

BTW, I can't access the tools menu - I uninstalled Chrome.

I installed Google Earth. Then a week later the Google Earth Icon was gone and Chrome was there. I hate Chrome.

I tried Chrome for awhile, then dumped it and came back and tried again a few months later. First impressions weren't to good (hated bookmarks), but now it's my default browser. In my experience, it's the fastest of all major browser and best with new html 5 code.

Opera does have some nice features though. I keep it loaded 24/7 on my home office computer for it's "Unite" functionality. Unite is a great piece of of software that doesn't seem to have hit the masses. Unite gives me access to my photos and music as well as my entire data hard drive from any internet connection. Great stuff!

I wouldn't use anything but Firefox with the NoScript add-on. Browsing without obnoxious ads and other assorted junk is the only way to go.

I've used Opera, nice small browser, sort of middle of the road, things I thought were okay but nothing that made it standout in my mind/experiences. I have chrome, use it occasionally, it is VERY fast, but not the friendliest browser of the bunch; I think the incognito feature is cool. At home Firefox is my tried and true friend, it doesn't load as fast as Opera or Chrome but is feature RICH. At work I'm stuck with MS Internet Exploiter ... er, Explorer, it continues to show me why I like almost any other browser. It works, but ... I know there is so much better out there.

The CSS is broken again. Looks like it may be related to the tag-cloud feature.
