Hello All,

I'm going to be taking my ICC Fire Inspector 1 test again (shamefully I got my butt kicked the first time).

A little background on myself I spent two years as a reserve fire inspector, went and worked for the fire alarm and sprinkler companies for two years, and now I’ve been a fire prevention specialist for four months. My department is requiring me to have this within 1 year of employment.

First off is there any more classes you can take anyone more where you go to lecture for three days and then take the test? Because i prepared by taking the ICC offered online class which didn't really explain anything just basically went and gave you the topics on the test and gave you quiz questions on each topic.

I did well on, General Inspection admin, and General Provisions. .

But when i got to occupancies and regulated materials i didn't do so well, any tips on those areas?

Any help would be appreciated all the guys in my dept. took the test years ago after they did they’re three day class, (I’m the youngest in the dept. at 23)

Great question and welcome to the forum. I know that some states have 1 and 2 day classes on this exact subject. The ICC may have a list of education providers in your area.

Tab the book

Also Icc has flash cards that might help you prep

Best advice is know what is in each chapter, not so much details,,

More which chapter to look in to find the answer

They're pricey but their system works. I did 2 of their course after failing a couple of tests. Passed with flying colors the second time around.
