Using one of the chemicals as an example here:

I have an HMIS listing Liquichlor, a corrosive liquid. It indicates that there is no IFC physical hazard. The MSDS lists it as a category 1 physical hazard, noting it is corrosive to metals. The material list in the IFC and IBC do not list "corrosives" as a physical hazard. How do I treat this? It seems the HMIS has it correct, but do I ignore the MSDS. I don't usually get into this since the FD does so I am outside of my normal wheel-house here, but I feel like I should understand it better.

There are 3 chemicals listed, the first two show as a corrosive with no physical hazard, the third shows neither a health or physical hazard:
Liquichlor
Hydrochloric Acid
Soda Ash

Are the MAQ's in t307.1(2) per each individual chemical, or combined? Footnote b indicates combined but the HMIS shows quantities in storage (closed) for the two combined greater than the table would allow. I think I found this answer since the building is sprinklered.

In general, I am having trouble relating any of the MSDS information to the "Material" column in the MAQ tables.

Any help??

If it has "no IFC physical hazard," it is then a health hazard, where corrosives are listed.

Although the individual ingredients, if separated, may have different hazards, the hazard you should be concerned with is the one created by the combination of the ingredients.
