Holiday Weekend!

Don't know what you all are are doingfor the holiday weekend but I'm outta here! Scouting elk in the Black Hills. Hey, bad guys... I do have friends feeding my horses and trail cam's... Yes thats right trail cams ( for you bads guys that means more than one) setup around the ranch.Have a great holiday weekend everybody!

Enjoy the weekend. Wedding on Saturday then I will probably head to Glacier National Park on Monday. Wife was there last week and saw 16 bears within 10 hours at Many Glacier.

I heard the Elk bulgeling last night at the neighbors Elk farm. It won't be long and the hunt will be on.

Playing catchup, had an old friend pass last week, so we had lots of company, and didn't get much else done. Got some mechanicing to do, but am planning on getting over to Thunder In The Rockies Bike Rally one day this weekend anyway.....

BTW, my son got his promotion to E-5 Sargent this week, way cool, I am so proud of that boy, can't wait till he's back stateside, hopefully in February!

have to work. Firing up the sawmill to mill some pine, cedar, oak and doug fir. the most work will be barbequing the ribs to where the meat almost falls off the bone. And then there is getting the beer cooled to the chunking temperature. it will be a very stressful weekend. i will be scouting for bear and a buck from the deck while cooking the ribs. multi tasking can be a btch.

I'll be working at the muni airport on Saturday & Sunday fueling whatever planes and copters stop in.

We currently have Forest Service camped out at the airport along with BLM's yearly camp. Something about the 5 fires around the area recently, including one about 50 miles southeast that was 315,577 total acres for CA & NV and the second largest fire at 271,911 acres in CA history.

There is also the Burning Man festival this week & weekend over in the Black Rock Desert. One of the participants crashed his plane on the highway Monday. Pilot walked away and is okay.

Monday I will be getting a head start on the fall yard work (playing in the garden).:mrgreen:

The better half had her second knee replaced this week so I will be playing nurse and catching on work. Hopefully some good college games and NASCAR on Sunday night.

I'll be grouting tile, setting a toilet and building a lav cabinet. Never pass up a chance to work on the homestead.

We had terrible smoke here earlier in the week but its cleared up a bit yesterday and today. Klamath Falls was so bad on Tuesday the sky was brown.

Bill,

Klamath Falls had a brown pall over it when I was there on the 20th. I hit really bad smoke on CA 139 (OR 39) coming home, probably from the Barry Point Fire. Air quality is better today so far but the wind hasn't picked up yet.

do you think think maybe she was referring to the light in the fridge when you close the door? and how would you know without being in the fridge with the door closed? did you notice if she was still in there when you grabbed a beer?
