Home of the Brave

Thank You Francis: Yesterday was very busy. It is the first time in my adult life that I did not stop and think about what all those that have gone before have done for me. At one point, I look at the date on my laptop and briefly reflected. Today looking back I feel some what ashamed that I could not spare a minute. When viewing this post and seeing 25 views and 0 responses It stopped me in my tracks.

Who am I that I can't stop and think about all those men & women, Moms & Dads, that have provided me the freedom I enjoy.

I feel low. But thank you Francis for reminding me.

I saw the post, and as always when thinking of that day, left speechless. There is not much you can say when you reflect on this horrific event in history, except to thank all the men and women that have stepped up since then, knowing the risks. God bless them all.

I have visited and walked around on the U.S.S. Arizona Memorial.

It is somewhat erie, but a very nicely designed memorial.....It WILL

make one stop and think.....And yes, I have seen the oil on the

water.

Did You Know?

There were 1.4 million gallons of fuel on the USS Arizona when she

sank.......Over 60 years later, approximately nine quarts still surfaces

from the ship each day......Some Pearl Harbor survivors have referred

to the oil droplets as "Black Tears."
