Hopeful good news on the economy

The majority of activity I am seeing is tied to public money.

Schools, government buildings, military projects, etc. are all funded by taxpayers so cannot be used as evidence of a growing economy.

The private sector remains flat thanks to the anti-capitalist policies coming out of DC.

Things remain fairly flat here in Houston, we're not gaining and we're not losing. I concurr with Pack, 90% of things that are happening are strictly because of government money, and we all get to pay for that. The feds appear to be very hostile to business in general which doesn't make our lives good.

I'm looking forward to a busy summer. Two commercial projects are approved by planning, and the senior apartment complex has made it over the first hurdle with planning. Next stop on the 12th of May is City Council, then back to planning. I am cautiously optimistic that this project will get built, and it is being done with private, not federal funds.

Sue, where the west still lives.......and boy howdy, some of the locals are irate over the last project ; )

Busier here than I can staff. Lots of new private sector stuff coming up. More to come, too.. I'm looking at private projects starting 3Q this year and early next year.
