Robert S.,

The people on this Forum have been; and some still are, where

you are at [ politically speaking ]......We both sympathize and

empathize with your plight......If they did not want you to inspect

and enforce some resemblance of the adopted construction codes,

why did they hire you in the 1st place [ asked rhetorically ].

If you want to change your name on here, send a Private Message

to one of the Moderators and request the change.....We want to

continue to help you in any way we can.....As some on here might

say, ...try not to make anything personal, ...always be professional,

...don't get drawn in to any arguments where the other party is

attempting to make it personal or demeaning you, ...always "very

legibly" document your work and keep copies for yourself, ... try

to have available a code book where you can show or document

from, ...the various code sections you are try to apply.......Consider

yourself as "the Code Trailblazer" in your current position, and

hang in there and always believe in yourself and your abilities.

This ain't personal!

There are links on this forum, to the various code books.....It is

a completely FREE link, so you can read any of the various code

books / sections of interest [ i.e. - the mechanical codes you

are now trying apply ].....Scroll down on this Forum main page,

to the " Useful Links " thread, and select the code you're

interested in.

FWIW, I have found it useful to always keep an updated

resume!.......Let us know how we can help you some more!

TN ain't so bad!.....The state in which I am located still

has to pipe in sunshine every day! :D

Who is Jeff? Would like to see about becoming more anonymous.

I learned a long time ago they don't pay me enough to get mad. I never take this stuff or make this stuff personal though the same can't be said of some of those I deal with. In my last job (actually two jobs ago) I was a multi-trade inspector so I have most of the codes I need, though I can only use them for reference and teaching until they are adopted. Again I am fine with that, I don't really want to be a multi-trade guy. Its OK to help out and fill in, certainly helps me be better at the building/planning/review side but if I am ever allowed to hire some help I will push for an expert in mech/plumbing. That we we can feed off each other a little. Of course, I would still have to be employed to do that.

Can I give you someone's name from let's say Ala....bama, could you change it? :)
