A lot of the jurisdictions around here have special arrangements with industrial users, in that they have a dedicated staff member assigned to a firm whose job is solely to expedite permitting for them. MEP, structural etc work. Often these permits can be turned around in one or two days. We have an on-call contract to conduct permitting services for several of them, and average 50-100 permits per year per client. Most of them are pretty small, like removing a wall or adding a door.
