ICC audit?

Couple decades in the ICC, always wondered how they track the CEU's I need to renew certs. Now I know. I was selected for a random audit. They wanted copies of all the CEU's I reported for use in my recent renewal. Fortunately I had all of them because I am a virtual packrat. I imagine others may have neglected to keep everything they need for the last 3 or 4 years. I had to sift through them as mine go back a very long time but I guess that is the price we pay.

I am told this may be happening more frequently. Has this happened to anyone else?

So public service announcement...keep your CEU certificates.

Your the first.... I didn't know they did that, I keep mine in a loose leaf.

I also noticed if you don't renew, ICC will start removing old CEU credit from you dashboard requiring you to do more classes for renewing certs.

I had an audit following my renewal about 2yrs ago. Mostly online training, so it was fairly easy to pull records together.

I sent in the 21 certificates they listed on the ICC website as used for the renewal. Every one. I received another email listing which ones I didn't send in, so I went in again and made sure they were all sent. I advised they were all sent, but sent them again anyway. They then said I was good to go. Not too painful, but it was 3 hours I won't get back. And I had all of them. I wonder what happens when someone doesn't. Do they just not count them? As I said, decades and I never heard this was a thing. Seems like they need to do a better job of advising folks that this can happen, or better yet simply require them up front before any credit is given for the CEU. JMHO.
