Well for those of us that went to Colorado it has been more than disappointing at the way the ICC has progressed on their promises.

I decided to email Kyle to see what was going on.......

Me:

I haven’t heard anything from you guys. I was just wondering if things were still in the works and if so what stage are we in?

It’s not looking so good on the promises.

Wayne

Kyle:

Wayne,

Good to hear from you!

Sorry for the delay on updates about the new discussion forum. Ever since the website shutdown, the backend of ICC has been quite, quite busy.

I know we keep saying "Soon, something is coming soon."

I can say, but without detail, we are working on the new discussion forum. Things are progressing and we should have an announcement to make very shortly about it with all the details.

I apologize for any inconvenience, and completely understand the frustration about the situation.

If you have any questions feel free to shoot me or Valerie any emails.

Thanks Wayne and hope all is well in Texas!

My older brother lives in Dallas and they have gone without school for three day because of ice! Hope conditions there are ok for you!

Kyle

Well............ it looks like things are normal over at ICC. Thank goodness for this site!

I try to stay out of the entire ICC site. I find it very confusing when trying to find information. I'm looking at CALBO (state) membership for next year.

Those in the know and who have [ semi ] kept up with ICC's lack

of positive leadership, IMO, believe that if given enough rope,

eventually they would hang themselves or least strangle the

very lifeblood out of the whole organization.

I'm with fatboy! ICC is a non-issue!

BTW, Mule, thanks for posting the update.

He shouldn't flatter himself; they aren't important enough to cause me frustration. I vote with the others: non issue. They have made themselves irrelevant.

I read about their new organizational chart for code hearings/changes and I am nothing but confused. I am not a party to "the language" used in today's business organization even thogh I have a BSBA. Must be getting really old.

Hey Kyle,

If'n you're truly interested in our 'praisal of your org's efforts, you could support us with a small contribution. :devil

Bill

I realize this post is just outta reach for Kyle, Oh Well!

I still think Jeff should try to get ICC to pay for advertising on the site.

It's gotta be worth at least $500 a month.

All right. Here is my <2cents. Denver is OFFICIALLY A BUST. Had smoke blown up my kilts before and not liking it. Makes my backside hurt. For goodness sakes cow. How is it that we (jar & rjj) can grow a site switch servers, attract incredible talent on ONLY DONATIONS and you (cow) can't even increase your site speed!!!??? How about your "store"!!!??? I can't find jack! I was one of the people that really wanted to make the cow site work and still grow this site. You all know that. But it's different now. It is now February 4th. Not one dam promise from the cow fulfilled.

So here it is. I'M DONE! COW KMA! Take the warm fuzziness form Denver and... shove them where the sun doesn't shine! I'm only committed to this site. This is the place to be period. Please don't beat down Kyle too bad. He is just doing what he is told. When I said I'm done I mean it. Wish I could really speak the words I want. To say I'm a little ticked would be a understatement. AVOID the icc website like the plague.

END OF UNPRECEDENTED RANT!

Post Script: A road apple out of the south bound end of a north bound horse has more of direction then the icc.

The reason is that ICC decided to execute a grand plan with regards to their website. Instead of making incremental improvements, they hired someone to make a new singing dancing site from scratch...it also slices, dices, and gives you all the warm feelings of Jeff's best avatar - but that's not all, it went to the low bidder who saved money by not actually running user surveys, A/B testing, and other basic design strategies.

Sure our boys can move to a new server, but they kept vBulletin.

Sure they moved forums around, but they kept the posts.

No plan survives first contact with the enemy.

I think their only hope now is to quietly made their website usable including some major changes to the forum without trumpeting their plans or advertising their goof-ups. This will be a long range effort to win back some respect and customers.

Just do it, , , stop talking about it. People WILL notice, I promise ~

Well JP: The work of running this BB is Jeff's load. As of late I have not been any help at all. He is the one carrying the lions share. I hope to be of more help in the near future. ICC an the BB is a joke. I knew it was smoke an fans up the Kilt before you all went. No the proof in in the pudding, so to speak. I believe this is just another of the cows lures to get and keep the money rolling in. By they way just what is an ICC cert worth? I am also Welsh! A direct descendant! And I don't wear any Kilt. I go commando!

The International Code Council Board has revised Council Policy #31 to expand its Code Action Committee (CAC) structure to establish a comprehensive approach to single-discipline commentary regarding changes to the I-Codes. The ICC Board expects this change to increase the quality of code change proposals, resulting in a more comprehensive approach to improving a code. CAC’s will deal with complex, technical issues ahead of the code development process to identify emerging issues or draft proposed code changes of importance to the ICC Membership.

According to ICC Board President Jimmy Brothers, these changes ensure that every discipline has more opportunities to be heard regarding the activities of the Code Council and to engage with code development issues. Establishment of the expanded, discipline-specific Code Action Committees is designed to utilize disciplinary experts to develop code change proposals and offer proposed approaches to code development from a disciplinary perspective.

This probably is a good idea but who can tell drowned in all this language? What happened to plain English?
