Had 58 inspections today and finished. WOW. Are you seeing an uptick in construction in your area? We had over 450 residential inspections county wide just today. I need a beer.

inspection numbers

I don't know how it is physically possible to drive to 58 separate locations for inspections in one day. Then there is the paperwork........

Fortunately I did not have 58 stops. It was all in about 8 or 9 neighborhoods. It is still impossible to do a good inspection in 5 minutes which is about what I had for each inspection. Kind of scary actually. We just hired another combination inspector. We requested three positions for hire but HR only approved one. Are your numbers picking up?

We are a little busier but not by much. There used to be three inspectors in my office and now I can handle it myself on most days. There is a contract inspector that works here and he is kept busy with code enforcement and a few inspections.

if i get 14 or 15 , i feel overwhelmed. builders here aren't exactly conciencous (sp) so i might wind up writing a small novel of corrections far any particular job. then theres the ones hat know nothing, and you have to actually tell them "heres how you do it" oh, for tools!

I averaged 20 inspections per day doin a code sweep, then the next day had to do the letters and mailings.

Yes, we are seeing some increase, more than slight, less than moderate, but an increase nonetheless.

For the most part we are remaining steady with moderate upticks every now and again.

Noticing more of a demand for faster turn arounds at review time, a bit more hand holding through the processes but its appreciated when given.

We are averaging 20-25 each day. This week has been crazy because of the Veterans Day holiday. Two years ago we were doing about 10 each day so I know we are picking up. I started seeing a real increase at the beginning of the summer.
