2009 IFC 907.7.2 Power Supply. The primary and secondary power supply for the fire alarm system shall be provided in accordance with NFPA 72.

The Silent Knight IP fire alarm communicators are UL 864 listed for signaling under Other Transmission Technologies and comply with NFPA 72 requirements.

The installation requirements state - Although not required to meet NFPA, a small UPS is recommended to provide backup power for customer-provided router/switch

Question: Is it your opinion that the above IFC requires the UPS?
