Is a spiral stair allowed as the only stair in a 3 level home?

I have a project on a long and narrow tight lot where I would like to use a spiral staircase due to space considerations. It is a three level home at +/- 1500sf and the spiral would be the only staircase. Is this OK as long as it meets the 5' diam. requirement? Would there be any issues with egress, etc.? Any help/tips are appreciated. Thank you.

I think so...2009 IRC seems to allow it....but you might want for one of the CA guys to chime in.....I am on the right coast not the wrong one.... :)
