Is it an Atrium?

Hey all. We are working on a new 2-story retail building. The ground floor has the retail floor, cashier, and restrooms. Second floor is private offices. Access to the second floor is through an enclosed stair. The retail floor however, is a double-height space. I am trying to understand if it would meet the definition of an atrium per IBC 2018. The offices and retail are separated by a wall, so im not sure that it meets the IBC definition of "connecting" two stories. We are planning to have windows in the wall to look out onto the floor but not if that would trigger atrium compliance. Would you consider the retail space an atrium or is it just simply a double height space?

I think it is an atrium, but like steveray mentioned with two stories no separation or smoke control required. Might also qualify as a mezzanine if the provisions for openness are met in IBC 505.2.3 but not sure it needs to be.
