Thanks to an Almighty and mercifull God it's raining!!! Not a lot but you never know how much you miss it when it dose not rain for 2 to 3 months and you are surrounded by wild fires.

Thanks properly given

For those who have not lived near wild fire the smoke can cover large areas and be very irritating to those with respritory issues.

The news reports on the number of residents lost in these fires but the true effect in Mt and WY will be the number of jobs and lost revenue to the farmers and ranchers who have lost there farm buildings and equipment.

Inyan Kara Fire WyomingThis spectacular picture was taken last Tuesday 1 1/2 miles from my permit tech's home near Inyan Kara. The horses are wild and have literally been running for their lives for the past three days. View attachment 1425

Beautiful but worrisome pic jp. Having grown up in Colorado and the Western Nebraska Sandhills...droughts are ugly by themselves. Adding fire only compounds the harshness of an already tough environment.

I barely sleep the night before we do control burns on our CRP prairie land as it is, I can hardly imagine waking up to the smoke and fires you are seeing. We are currently experiencing haze from the Colorado fires.

We were socked in with the smoke yesterday. We are supposed to get the monsoonal moisture this weekend, hopefully will help the fireguys with the wildfires. As pappio said, Beautiful but troubling pic, JP. Enjoy the rain, we got a splash last night out at our place, nice to wake up and hear that.........

Greetings

LIving on the gulf coast, we deal with hurricanes, not fires. That said, when I went up to Austin in March for some training I had to go through Bastrop which was hit hard by fires last summer. I was totally awestruck at the devastation. Huge swaths of trees gone. So I can empathize for sure. Good Luck! I hope you get more rain!
