Not my project and while I'm curious, I don't have the time to research it out. Maybe someone here just knows. I saw a plan for a landlord client from other architect that located an IT room and Mech. Equipment room off the staff single hole toilet. I would never do this and thought it really strange. Is there anything that says you can't? Also the room appears pretty tight so they're showing the clearance for the sink angled and away from the sink so it doesn't overlap the door swing to the point that the sink clearance doesn't even overlap the sink. (I haven't seen that before either).

Thanks!

Describe the IT room

A server equipment rack, or IT stuff with staff??

Same on mechanical, what is in there??
Matters have to be able to get stuff in and out.

2015 IBC (2012 1014.2)
1016.2 Egress through intervening spaces.
Egress through intervening spaces shall comply with this section.
2. Egress from a room or space shall not pass through adjoining or intervening rooms or areas, except where such adjoining rooms or areas and the area served are accessory to one or the other, are not a Group H occupancy and provide a discernible path of egress travel to an exit.
Exception: Means of egress are not prohibited through adjoining or intervening rooms or spaces in a Group H, S or F occupancy where the adjoining or intervening rooms or spaces are the same or a lesser hazard occupancy group.
3. An exit access shall not pass through a room that can be locked to prevent egress.

I'm not sure what's in there, but they're small. IT is maybe 3' wide and 3.5' deep. Equip. room is about 4' wide and 3.5' deep. I'm guessing water heater in the equipment room. This is for a dentist office, so could be for their equipment too.

2. Common use circulation paths, located within employee work areas, that are an integral component of equipment, shall not be required to be accessible routes.

Pretty much describes an IT room
