A small peave of mine is the log in seems to time out too quickly if I have it minimized while answering other questions or working. To check later I have to log back in.

I never get timed out, I am always on when I check back in, I will poke around and see what it may be for you. Agree with cda, have you checked the "remember me" box?

I don't have a problem with it at home but I do at work. It would stop me from submitting a post because I was logged off. It got so buggy on my work computer that I don't even access the site from work.

I have the same problem as Frank. I haven't tried it at home to see if it does it or not, but at work I have to log in again if I've left my computer for awhile or get to working on something else on my computer.

I just tried to visit the site from my work computer. The computer froze up and I had to shut it off.

I find the site operates best when using Google Chrome in lieu of Internet Explorer and the "remember me" fixed the time out problem for me

I use Firefox at work. When I boot up in the morning and visit the site, I am not logged in and cannot post. As soon as I clink on a link to read a message or visit a specific code area, the site recognizes me as being logged in and I can post. I have no idea if I clicked on "Remember me" or not. I do not know how to find out either.

Any issues with being logged out are a direct result of the browser you are using, the settings within your browser and the keep me logged in checkbox. I never have to log in and I have a user id and password just like everyone else. Please check your settings and for the record I have not used Internet Explorer in years and have no intention to do so again.

I use IE all the time and never have issues. I have the whole MS ecosystem, Surface Pro tablet with windows 8, and the Windows Phone, both of which use IE 11 natively and they work wonderfully. One of the Surface forums I frequent has quite a few conversation about previous users of Chrome, Firefox etc. all say that after some time with the new version of IE that they are pleasantly surprised and actually prefer it now. Particularly the new touch enabled "Metro" version on the tablet. Most of them mention there distain for the old IE, LOL. The new MS ecosystem is AMAZING. From the new OneDrive cloud storage to the unified OS across all devices, it is truly a new direction for them and I am enjoying it so far. I can go from my home desktop to my work desktop to my tablet to my phone and have the same experience and access to everything I need. Just some food for thought.

For those not familiar, if your in the market for a new computer/laptop, this thing is a powerful desktop in "tablet" form. I am just suggesting it, as I have had mine a year and it has become an invaluable tool for me at work! This thing is a BEAST. Nothing on the market will touch it right now for the price. With the keyboard cover and the docking station it goes from tablet to laptop to desktop in seconds!

Disclaimer* I do not work for MS and this is not advertising. I am a fan of all tech and like to share with others when I find something that works. Our IT dept here is using these as well now with great success and our Emergency Management is purchasing several of them for the dept. for field use. They have found them to be far more productive than the iPads. So forgive me if this is in anyway inappropriate.

I used to be a PC user. I remember the days when I had to call someone because I tried to load a printer driver etc. I remember paying every year for anti-virus software. I remember the delete button working backwards from the way it should. I remember a third of the storage space being taken up by programs.

Well that's about as much as I can remember. Admittedly, the iPad is no computer---- the Macbook Air is.

Yeah, I've all the stories, blah, blah ,blah. OSX and iPads have the same issues to some degree or another. Just look at the big hole they had to plug last week. They only feel secure because it has such a small portion of the desktop market that hackers don't waste their time. While I will admit the MacBook Air is a nice piece of equipment and has it's place it is still limited by the exclusivity of the "walled garden" of Apple. That may work for some but no thanks not for me.

Depends on specific needs but the Surface is the better "productivity" tool and Air is a better play toy :-)

Sorry to hijack this thread guys. I was just sharing my recent discovery of some great new tech! Have a great day :otopic

Sorry one more link. Any doubt to what I said? Just read this forum of ALL the former Apple users who have discovered the NEW Windows on this amazing "true hybrid" device known as the Surface Pro! Most of which find that for true productivity and work Apple is a toy and the Surface is a true work tool.

Again I apologize for hijacking this thread but I really believe this is a new beneficial tool for those of us in the field and the office. I use OneNote for all my meetings now and it is amazing! No more legal pads for me!!! LOL
