Look what was approved!

First, MT the local ahj requires fire inspections every other year. The State Health department has requested an inspection and thus the inspector in charged called me in because he wasn't quite sure. The original call was regarding a range hood in the kitchen area. Posted under Mechanical thread. Now there are quite a few problems with the hood and range. Then I was informed that I need to do a walk through on fire issues. I had only allowed 1 hr for the hood and when we started on 2hrs I had to leave. I shall return. The issues are endless and I snap the photo on my leaving just for the BB.

The wall to the left is the only thing keeping it from collapsing. ADA compliance is none!!! The building has sprinklers with some of the heads painted. Up rights in down position and just about any old thing can do. Without offending the inspector in charge, I stopped writing after two pages. Told him, we will need to discuss the issues.

The number one issue is to remove the structure shown. FM, I believe the devise is a strobe & horn designed for interior use. I had reached the parking area at that moment and knew I was safe.

HD: That is a new addition approved about ten years ago. It has issues inside! However, the Mechanical room and electric panels all looked ok. I have maybe some minor issues with the three Boilers and vents. I plan to revisit them.

One major issue is the elevator that connects the old and new. The maintenance fellow " told me it was inspected every year."" It is very old, but works great!"

While this was being explain at the entrance to the pit I notice, I was standing in oil leaking from the lift motor. My response was ok!

Guys, Guys, Guys; there but for the grace of ( ... ) could be some of us or were in a past life (not smiling)
