MC/AC Cable in Patient Care Areas

Are the cable assemblies in health care facility patient care areas, such as MC required to be identified by having the outer sheath green? I know that we typically see green MC cable in patient care areas but is it required?

How do you verify that the cable being used in patient care areas meet the nec requirements?
 
It has to be approved as an egc if I am not mistaken. 517.13, which then refers you to 250.118...250.119 talks about the "covering" colors of EGC's, but I do not believe it is required (by code) in that instance, it is just how the industry addresses the differentiation.....
