Minimum area for double height living room

I want to ask about how much should be the minimum area for designing a double height living room ?if the dimensions are 20'×27' would it look bad or good?

depends on the beholder, sitting on the couch you would probably feel lost in the room

I have a 24'x24' living room with a 16' high cathedral ceiling and it looks great.

Thats a reasonable question ... you dont want it to be a cracker box. Why are you asking? Don’t forget you are going to have to heat and cool all that space. Might want to think about limiting it to 12 ft or so, depending on the design. Flat ceiling? Cathedral? Exposed beams? Do you want the height for tall windows and a grand view?
