I advised someone that a pair of double swinging doors in and out of a commercial kitchen need to be larger than 5' total width since at least one leaf needs to be 32" clear. I haven't misled an exception have I?

Seems like you could have one leaf that is 32" clear and another than is 28". Is this in Florida? See excerpt below:

2023 Florida Building Code, Section 1010.1.1 - "The required capacity of each door opening shall be sufficient for the occupant load thereof and shall provide a minimum clear opening width of 32". [...] Where this section requires a minimum clear opening width of 32" and a door opening includes two door leaves without a mullion, one leaf shall provide a minimum clear opening width of 32".

Yes, in Florida, and that's the section I was referring to. I am frequently told by others that a pair of 2'-6" doors comply since it's a 5 foot opening, and for some reason end up being the bad guy when I say that isn't so. Thank you!
