Multi-level Type B Units?

Hi

We're working on a condo project, we have more than (4) units so therefore must have Type B units, and we have no elevator so therefore all ground level units would need to be the Type B units. We're proposing townhome style designs with internal stairs - is this allowed in a Type B unit?

We are under ANSI/ ICC A117.1-2009
