Sixth Amendment to the United States Constitution said:In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the state and district wherein the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the assistance of counsel for his defense.
Section 14 of the South Carolina Constitution said:The right of trial by jury shall be preserved inviolate. Any person charged with an offense shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial by an impartial jury; to be fully informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to be fully heard in his defense by himself or by his counsel or by both.

As much as I hate to admit it the ICC/ANSI A117.1 is a much, much better standard and more comperhensive document. The ONLY reason the A117.1 is scerwed-up is trying to comply with HUD (DUH) (HUD spelled backwards) and ADA. The feds should get the heck out of the way on this one for sure!
