Hello,
I am designing a warehouse, which will be F-1 Factory occupancy group. It will also have a section of the building which will be offices and supporting spaces. The offices will be B Business group. I am classifying the hallways, restrooms, closets, etc. as Accessory group. My question is twofold: 1. is that assumption correct (or at least acceptable)? 2. How do I include the Accessory use in the parking calculations??
Thanks for your help,
Gwen

How do I include the Accessory use in the parking calculations??
Parking calculations are not a building code requirement. That would be up to the local AHJ. After the total number is decided then the building code will address how many accessible parking spaces are required.

Couple things to take note of...

As Mtlogcabin noted, parking calculations are typically a zoning code thing, not related to the building codes.

Hallways, restrooms, etc. would not be separately classified; include them within the applicable classification for the space they serve.

Be careful to not conflate occupancy classification and occupant load/function. IBC Ch. 3 and IBC Sec. 1004 have many similar names/classifications, but these are not necessarily related. The office side of your building that is classified as a Group B occupancy may, for example, have conference room that will use an assembly with fixed seats occupant load factor.

In summary, I do not believe you would likely need to use the accessory space classification.

Sounds to me like you are designing a mixed use building. F-1 Factory and B offices. You may have a S occupancy storage warehouse in there too.
