I have a question in regards to the occupant load posting for a gym. Architect shows the OL including bleachers and standing room for a gym as one figure. And shows another OL for removable seats with another calculation. The signage is to be posted for the room at the exit. The gym has an upper floor to it so do you add the two calce for an overall OL or do you split the figure and post at each floor. Any rule to thumb on this?

Does the upper floor egress through the lower floor of the gym, or does the upper floor have its own separate means of egress?

I would post each floor of the gym, treating them separately.

I agree with Fatboy but the number of MOE is still based on the combined occupant load.

Before also I believe. If the combined occupant load is over 1000 for instance you can't have less than 4 separate MOEs from the assembly space to the public way.

The MOE for each space is designed for that OL.
Yes, once they are headed to the public way, the MOE is to be designed for all contributing OL's.
