Greetings, colleagues. Or adversaries. Depends on the hearing, the jurisdiction, and whether we are debating the finer points of gypsum board fire ratings.

Yes, it is true. I have been lurking among you since September of 2023, contributing here and there. A code comment when the spirit moves me. A passive-aggressive jab at industry nonsense when I simply cannot resist. But with only 30 posts to my name, I realize I have maintained the social footprint of a feral cat at a garden party. So allow me to formally introduce myself.

My name is Raymond Reddington. Some of you may know me from my more public endeavors. I am featured in a rather gripping television series called The Blacklist, which documents my work in international intrigue, covert operations, and the occasional art heist. When I am not dismantling global criminal enterprises or sipping obscure Croatian liqueurs, I am reading comment threads about fire separation and permit intake delays. Because to me, that is where the real danger lives.

I am not a code official. I am not a contractor. I am not an engineer. I am something far more dangerous. A man with opinions and spare time.

I am also a Sawhorse member. Not the kind that supports lumber, but the kind that supports this forum so you can continue discussing ground fault protection and duct insulation R-values without being interrupted by a pop-up ad about reverse mortgages.

I understand that some of you have reported me as a possible spammer. And honestly, I am flattered. A man who has eluded Interpol, the CIA, and a handful of disgruntled warlords for decades was finally taken down by a well-intentioned permit technician with a spam button. Remarkable.

So here I am. Public. Present. Opinionated. Occasionally helpful. Frequently sarcastic. Often misunderstood.

If you are unsure how to take me, just assume I am completely serious and not serious at all. That usually works.

If you are still confused about who I am, I invite you to watch the first few episodes of The Blacklist. It will explain everything. Or it will confuse you further. Either way, you will be entertained.

P.S. If this post suddenly vanishes, it is because I never existed. Or because I was extradited. Hard to say.
