Every once in awhile a question comes up that leads to a discussion of how we arrived at the language in the International Building Code. As most of you probably know, the IBC is a mix of ideas taken from the BOCA National Building Code (BOCA), the Uniform Building Code (UBC), and the Southern Standard Building Code (SSBC). On occasion it's useful to look back into those codes to see what they each said compared to current IBC language.

I have a PDF copy of a fairly late copy of the SSBC. I have printed copies of every edition of BOCA since 1970, through 1999 -- I just need to pick one and scan it. What I don't have is any version of the UBC. Does anyone have a PDF copy they can send me, or a link to a PDF copy that I can download?

Thank you.

I have 24 editions/volumes from 1927 to 1997 in pdf. Each would APPEAR to be of a size I can email, or definitely link in an email. Which do you want?

Our building department started with the 1979 uniform codes. I was able to purchase all Uniform Building, Mechanical and Fire codes from the ICC and load on our servers as reference documents. It wasn't much money and it sure is nice to have.
This is on every page, so no I could not legally share a full copy with anyone. I can snip portions to share and explain the history when something came into the code

A forum member has offered to send me a copy. Since the contact was through the private messaging system I won't mention the name, but I am grateful.

Once I get that and BOCA scanned, if anyone wants/needs a copy for reference I'll be happy to share. As I posted, I have a PDF of the SSBC (1960-61, and 1973)
