If these people weren’t out there, the people that do it the right way wouldn’t be worth the big bucks.

You know better, Columbia NJ might as well be in PA, it's just over the Deli up north and a stones throw from Stroudsburg.

and, Jersey has had something you would call a State License for over 2 decades, it's what PA modeled their Home Improvement contractors License after.

I would agree it has very little teeth to it, more of a registration than license, and without it only the home owner themselves can take out a building permit, but who thinks work is not done without permits, in area's that require permits.

And yes Jersey has required permits be taken out for "new" window installs since the late 80's, which is as far back as I can remember off the cuff.

And technically, the company advertising the video does have one of those so called NJ Licenses, but what good is it, if people don't follow the rules.

Many things happen between 5pm Friday and 7am Monday everyday, and also during the week.

Now for those of you who think I agree with what the contractor is bloviating about, I AM NOT IN AGREEMENT, I just have a soft spot for those that think requiring a license & permits is really going to make a difference in stopping stupidity and those that don't care.
 
It's going to be fun in a year or two when the studs start putting their load onto the vinyl window frame, and the windows can't be opened, then the sheet rock over the window and the window glass start cracking.

An acquaintance of mine put a header in carrying the upstairs of a cape and the shed dormer with a properly sized header with no jacks and just drywall screws through the kings to hold it up.... He was also the super(not)visor on a 3 story wood frame hotel job.....

Now Paul,

The landscaping should have overgrown the window with Ivy by then.

At that point they will just cut a new window in next to it...
