I'm going to Portland for the ICC ABM and would like to visit some of the local wineries. Does anyone have any suggestions on the best way to visit some of them? I'm debating on renting a car and driving myself or signing up for a group tour that would visit several wineries.

Any input is greatly appreciated!

I have a few friends that visited the area and did a winery tour. I will see if I can some recommendations for you. I have always wanted to visit the Hogue cellars in Washington's Woodward Valley. That's about 4 hours East of Portland on 84 (which is a leisurely drive for Kansas/Nebraska folk).

Yes, Hogue is a good one and Chateau St Michelle is one I'd like to visit as well. Thanks Papio!

Yamhill County area or south down the Willamette River. Yamhill county is about an hour SW of Portland. There are a number of wineries there. They should also have visitor handouts at the Convention Center.

That's why I'm leaning towards the tour group! I just don't know which ones are the good ones and which ones to avoid!
