Years ago a kid was killed when a trash enclosure fell apart. I do not know the details but ever since that happened trash enclosures are overbuilt…on a separate permit….most likely engineered plans. It’s been a while that I have inspected one but they are stout. You can use any material that you want as long as it is CMU with a large, deep footing.
