Not where I really want to be
Here is just one reason why we should not be carrying tools and doing this when there is NOT an electrician on the jobsite for inspection. In this case I turned around after passing the inspection and heard a loud POP while the electrician was putting the cover back on. There was a wire along the panel and it became squeezed between the screw and the side of the panel. The threads ate into the insulation as he tightened and it shorted out. He was lucky it was the last screw and he was not holding the panel in place. It was the correct, factory screw for the panel. Luckily the wire was long enough to cut it, strip the end and place back into the CB, otherwise it would have needed a pigtail and wirenut.

Does someone need a new pair of these?

Years ago when I did HVAC, the electrician we subbed work to had a helper deliberately position a wire so when the inspector (that the helper thought was a jerk) screwed the cover on, he would hit it with the screw.

Electrician was more than a little angry, but didn't fire the guy for some reason.
