Greetings all,

Well was very happy to pass that test 1st try. Being an electrician it was not very difficult for me. That said, there was an interesting question particularly with separately derived systems which required a thourough understanding of what they are relative to neutral connections. And just for a heads up there were multiple questions where it was required to figure loads by being given 3phase KVA loads etc. Several good derate questions on conductor size utilizing temp ratings and temp ratings of terminals. Most questions were simply from one section of code. About 15% were from multiple code sections to come up with the right answer.

Now if I can just pass the mechanical test coming up again. (blew it the 1st time!)

BS

Congratulations. I too found the commercial mechanical test the hardest even though the E2 is the hardest but like you, I have an extensive electrical background so all is relevant.

Glad all the required tests are out of the way.. I just need to maintain my certs.. :)

I'm at the point that I can focus on getting permit tech and PM.. which are not relevant to what I do, but can easily increase my list..

Having said that, the two hardest tests I've ever taken were electrical plan review and Fire 2.. (passed them both first time, but not sure until I saw the results).

Congratulations!

F-2 was challenging for me also, CBO legal also, just because of the number of reference materials, E-2 is next on my list. I took the Colorado state electrical inspectors exam a few years back, which was supposed to be the same exam as a Journeyman takes, the most challenging test i have ever taken, passed that, but that was quite a few years ago. Sounds like I better hit the books!
