personal home kitchen vent a hood question

Existing home vent a hood, little one fan thing, that is ducted to the outside.

about 14 yr old house.

I feel the nice cold artic air coming in when it is not running.

Not being a mechical person, what do they do now a days to prevent the cold air from entering the house.

I know on bathroom exhaust there is a one way flap.
