The gas pipe was in a dirt trench and supplied a swimming pool heater. The fitting was crooked and just looked wrong so I asked to have it. There is plenty of confusion inside the fitting but I wonder if it is a big deal or not?

Looking at the joint, there is only heat fusion on part of the joint, and probably why it was cut out. I can not tell what size the pipe is, and am guessing that it was 2psi going to the pool heater. Pressure drop on natural gas, especially if it is only 1/2 psi, could be a problem with a restriction.
