Pull Side Clearance @ Entry Door

Have a charter school moving into SFR, yes did chapter 34 for change of use. CBC, installing new ramp to entry door, question can an automatic door replace required pull side clearance at door?, have a 40 inch clear space on interior side of door with walls on both sides, one side is bathroom the other is kitchen with cabinets, property owner would like not to do any demo. Thanks all
