I can't seem to find this in the NYS Building Code or ANSI-A117.1 generally accepted standard.

Do ALL the signs identifying guest room numbers & entries in the hotel need to have tactile communication elements?

Our NYS Ch. 11 does not have a section 1110.4 - BUT includes an appendix "E107.2 Designations. Interior and exterior signs identifying permanent rooms and spaces shall be tactile."

Hidden in the back of the book!

Mod - delete at will.

Does a directional sign to a permanent space in a parking lot used for traffic need to be tactile? E107.2 seems to say this.
No........there is no requirement for any directional or informational sign with any content to be tactile.

Rick 18071 I have seen that required in additon to the blue sign at the head end of an accessible parking space.
I have seen a lot of things required by people that don't know what they are doing.

IBC 2009, 1110 and E107.2 do not state that signage to rooms and spaces is required

E107.2 only signifies to the fact that if they are provided, then they shall be tactile

So how do you find your room or space in a building you have never been to if you do not install / provide signage?
