Greetings all

We have bantered this project for awhile and the owners have finally been convinced to install a sprinkle system in an existing bldg about of about 3500 sq ft. System will be 13R as the bldg should be an R4. Typically what size water tap would be required in the worse case scenario? The builder is trying to get a construction cost for bids. BTW, I have not done any flow tests in that end of town but I expect they will be fine.

Should be able to size it per hydraulic calculations

So they need to seek professional help and would advise you against giving them a size

Say must conform to Nfpa 13 R

Also if you let them tap off the domestic to feed the sprinkler, they need to calc in the domestic
