Assuming the liquid in question is to be stored and is a Class II combustible liquid. I've heard individuals refer to MAQ in terms of X gallons and others convert the liquid gallons to X "liquid" lbs.

Can anyone provide some insight here as to the correct units for the MAQ? Thanks

The materials listed in the table that have ( ) around the quantity are to use the unit measure in ( ) at the top of the column.

It still confused b/c the J superscript appears at the heading of the table; and I don't see it elsewhere throughout.

To me, that would imply that "j. Quantities in parenthesis indicate quantity units in parenthesis at the head of each column." applies to the entire table at each heading. ICC commentary skips this note.

TABLE 307.1(1) MAXIMUM ALLOWABLE QUANTITY PER CONTROL AREA OF HAZARDOUS MATERIALS POSING A PHYSICAL HAZARD a, j, m, n, p [F]

Thank you JBI - that makes more sense to me. Much appreciated.
