+ = + = +Simpson-Strongtie is not the only game around......Tamlyn also manufactures connectors.

See the link: Tamlyn - Xtreme Trimâ„¢, Color Flashing, and building products

What about the American Wood Council, [ AWC ] ...American Forest & Paper Association

[ NF & PA ], ...Weyerhauser, ...Lowe's, ...the Plumbing & Drainage Institute [ PDI ],

...various water heater manufacturers [ O.E. Smith, ...Bradford-white, ...American,

and others], ...various plumbing & piping manufacturers, ...various electrical product

manufacturers [ Leviton, ...Square D, others ].....In addition to operating this Forum

Jeff, ...it sounds as though you also now need a marketing department to pimp this

Forum !

A QUESTION FOR THE SMART FOLKS [ especially Jim Brown ]: In the

interest of mutual promotion of the industry & all things code related, ...would ICC

[ aka - The Cow ] advertise on here ?........NOTE: This would be a good opportunity

for them to mend some fences and "extend the olive branch" to the many code

officials they insulted in Denver.

I also contacted USP because they too are a large connector company. They blew me off. I think I will keep trying to contact these companies to see if they are interested.

Apple wanted more money to renew the iPhone app we have too. Maybe I should charge for downloading the mobile apps???
I was stuck with the apple app on my phone until cda told me how to fix that. I didn't like it and the full web site works fine. I would be disappointed if I paid for it

I think that companies might be inclined to advertise at a forum but as far as sponsoring goes, I doubt that. At least not openly. They would be taking a chance because they have no control over what happens at a forum. There might be a few loose cannons or tigers roaming.

= & =

O.K., ..how about Stanley tools, ...Sears, maybe even companies / corporations not necessarily

related to the construction / codes industry ?.........Chik-Fil-A, ...Walgreen's, ...each state'

tourism board / department, ...airlines, ...railroads, ...automobile manufacturers, others ?

Just throwing stuff out there for consideration.

Also, ...if you're wooing various sponsors, ...tell `em you can make a certain roaming Tiger

a eunuch if they'll sponsor. :devil

One thing to remember if you are about to buy something try to do it through the site. Jeff should identify what and how to do this again for adding money to the till. My old brain doesn't remember at just about five some where!

Slightly off topic. Provide an opportunity for increased support from those already supporting the forum that is not tied to a subscription. Allow the many existing "sawhorses" to help shoulder the deficit alongside you. I have suggested this previously and get a flat no response. Create a new category of supporter if that helps you knowing some credit is given where due. Maybe, you can call them, "Those men and women that believe in this forum as much as I do and are willing to stand beside me in its maintenance costs".

Get this idea implemented and by next week you can just call them "us".

Not sure if you saw the posts but I did this days ago and there are options for a one time payment from $5 to $30 and you are designated a "Supporter" but have no extra benefits. You can contribute $5 and get acknowledged as a supporter for an entire year.

New update. Just heard from the ad agency for Simpson Strong Tie. They are definitively interested in sponsoring part of the forum and want to talk money on Monday afternoon. Things are looking up!

The Palm Beach Florida retirement not working out so well? ;)
Just kidding and I don't think I'll ever get to retire anyway.

Just bustin California. The instructor at the gun range for my conceal and carry permit told us that California is a communist state. Not sure what he meant by that. He called it the peoples republic of California.
