Section 1005.1 egress width from big box stores

Late to the party again I see...... as mentioned the travel distance is the key. Take the area typically called "Soft Lines" in the middle and just try to get out within the sprinkled criteria allowance. It was so much fun dealing with designers and companies when we had our supercenter boom in the late 90's. I felt like Monty Hall and said just build it narrow so you can reach the exits. Seen everything from protected corridors to fully alarming and detecting on the table. Our biggest issue is keeping those darn banners from blocking visibility to our directional exit signs :) I've seen some jurisdictions get new tower trucks too!
