Separation distance

Universally, the code always says to use the most restrictive limit in any conflict. Table 601 says Type IIIB exterior walls must be 2 hour rated and note g adds "not less than the rating based upon fire separation distance."

If the distance is >30', Table 602 allows a 0 hr rating and I know firms have used a 0hr rating where there is sufficient distance, thinking that Table 602 overrides, but note G says "not less than" so I believe the 2 hr rating prevails.

Correct?
