Is there a requirement or even recommendation to avoid sharp turns (say 90 degrees) right before an exit at a large assembly occupancy?
I have always tried to maintain a minimum 125 (90+35) degrees right in from of the exit enclosure so that potential evacuees don't have to turn abruptly to enter the final exit vestibule.
I have been getting requests to build office space as shown in the area hatched with orange colour , and architects are politely telling me that my approach with the 125 degrees is unheard of and not required by any code.
What do you think?

Remember that the code is a minimum standard, not a best practice.

While I am not familiar with what you are doing, doesn't mean that you are wrong to do so.
