I know commentary is not code, but trying to figure out where it came from?

If you read 907.2.6.1 and read through 407

Seems to indicate smoke alarms are required in sleeping rooms.

CDA, I am as stumped as you are - looked at NFPA 72, 101, etc. Do not see any supporting documentation..... Somebody in firemodel class writing the commentary,... sounds possible, not going to recommend it as a practice.
