Solar installation needs to follow 120% rule per NEC 705.12 used to be 690.64. I've just learned from my BO yesterday, it does not apply to center feed main breaker panel, it only apply to top or bottom feed main breaker.

He told me 50% of cities OK for both type and 50% are not. Anyone have information regarding why center feed main breaker can not use 120% rule?
