In a Type IIA building, the structural Primary frame and floor construction members are required to be 1hr rated. I'm specifying 1hr SFRM on all my steel members and deck to accomplish this and my exterior walls are made of tilt-up concrete. This is a three story building and I have 1hr rated stairwells enclosed with tilt-up concrete panels extending to the bottom of the roof deck.
My question is, are the structural steel frames and landings for the stairs required to be protected with a SFRM material. My stairs are being designed as steel with concrete treads/landings.
