Structural Wood Design Relating to the CA Residential Code - Online Webcast

This 2 hr. webcast covers the requirements of CRC 2010 for wood frame structures. Prescriptive provisions of CRC allowing designers to design residential projects and its limitations will be thoroughly presented. Conventional framing, the new brace wall systems, new foundation systems and structural detailing/inspection requirements for residential projects will be explored. This webcast is recommended to building designers, plan reviewers, inspectors and other design professionals who are interested to learn or improve their knowledge of CRC. Upon completion of the webcast, participants will know how to design, review or inspect structural elements of a wood frame residential building. It is recommended that this webcast to be taken after the “Load Path in Wood Frame Structures” webinar.

This 2 hr. webcast covers the requirements of CBC 2010 for wood frame structures. Code related items to wood design and inspection for all buildings (residential & non-residential) will be discussed. Many commonly missed or misconstrued items will be identified and discussed. Topics include; Conventional wood framing, manufactured wood products and components, wood shear wall systems and associated connection detailing. This webcast is recommended to students, plan reviewers, inspectors and other design professionals who are interested to learn or improve their knowledge of CBC Chapter 23. Upon completion of the webinar, participants will be able to plan review or inspect structural elements of wood frame structures. It is recommended that this course be taken after the “CRC- Wood” webcast.
