We used to require a bonding jumper from the hot to cold water pipe at the water heater when an el. service upgrade takes place. We dropped the requirement about a year ago but many electricians still do it. I have found countless jacked-up water heaters. Mostly just wrong but a few that were dangerous.



This contractor took it a step further and almost bonded the gas pipe too.
