Hi all,
I'm a sole proprietor with 20 yrs, but doing my first Type IIIA multistory building.
Per Table 601, the exterior walls need to be 2-hr. (All wood frame bearing walls.)
However footnote a says, "Roof supports: Fire-resistance ratings of primary structural frame and bearing walls are permitted to be reduced by 1 hour where supporting a roof only."
Is this to say, that all exterior walls on the top floor can all be reduced to 1-hr? (Barring any other requirements of course?)
