Teflon Tape

The "proposed" type of Teflon tape to be used should be approved by the

AHJ B E F O R E it is installed! The AHJ may want the use of pipe

dope only. While there is an approved type of Teflon [ yellow in color ]

out on the market, I have found that the [ proper ] use of pipe dope

rarely leaks on the joints. It has to do with the permeability of the

tape itself and the correct application by the installer of said tape.

Others may have different experiences and/or viewpoints. ;)
